So you want to be an Entrepreneur?
There’s really two directions you can go.
1. Lifestyle entrepreneur-> probably no employees, no payroll… you’re the main creator of your product or service (usually creating outcomes on your own) that allows you to have less responsibility enabling you to work as little or as much as you want to.
2. Enterprise entrepreneur. Probably involves employees, payroll, R&D, HR, legal, product development…etc. More responsibilities. You’re building a real company.
There is nothing wrong with wanting either. But in my opinion, the difference is risk & reward.
Although quitting your day job to create an online business (video courses, drop shipping, Amazon, day trading…) is a risk, the barrier to entry is pretty low. Doesn’t require cash or investors or much resources to start. Therefore, the reward for being successful in those endeavors are smaller, but quicker.
Building a BIG enterprise consists of not only you going to hunt for yourself everyday, but having your employees backs. Making sure your overheard is covered. The risk is relatively greater, so shall the rewards you reap.
For me, my aspirations and the big things I want to accomplish require me to take more risk and take the longer road because I more than likely won’t be able to fund my legacy without building a brand and going at it with a team.
Right now as I write this, I am a one man band (lifestyle entrepreneur) and I am growing in this journey of expanding my entrepreneurial bandwidth.
Everyday we build another block onto the foundation of our legacy.
What are you putting your efforts towards building today?
